Dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, Baltard’s monumental work sought to document the architectural treasures of Paris through precise measured drawings and highly refined copperplate engravings. The publication remains one of the earliest systematic visual surveys of Parisian monuments produced during the Napoleonic era.
