An exceptional work of ceramic art that embodies all the mastery and glorious tradition of ligurian craftsmanship. This impressive and rare potiche (pharmacy-style vase with lid) is a highly prized collector's item, accompanied by its original certificate of guarantee from the "ceramiche siri" workshop in albisola marina.
subject and style: the vase features the classic, sinuous baluster shape, topped by an elegant domed lid. The piece is masterfully decorated in the traditional and refined albisola "calligraphic style": a triumph of meticulous naturalistic motifs, birds in flight, and mythological creatures (such as a winged dragon), framing the large central cartouche bearing the pharmaceutical-inspired inscription "rofatum." a second drape on the side bears the decorator's signature, "selene."
material and finish: crafted from fine majolica, molded and entirely hand-painted under a bright, thick glaze. The rich polychrome palette plays on the historic hues of antique blue, green, ochre, and manganese, enhanced by the pure white background. The handwritten signature of the workshop is clearly visible under the base: "siri albisola m. Dip. A mano".
