The artisan's mastery is evident in this vintage bent handle basket: the strong flexible willow strips are skillfully intertwined into a delicate pattern and the wider bands of the handle are simply bent.

Chinese characters are clearly visible on the handles and on each side of the basket, the rim of which is covered in leather.
