This is a gorgeous example of an iconic space age Steelcase furniture design. The "Soft Seating" set was designed in the early 1970s and is a prime example of the space age design language of the time. This sofa features a white fiberglass body design with soft curving corners, a supple and soft brown leather upholstery, and a round, clear lucite base. This design set was made to be the star of a space, a true conversation starter in the 1970s, and especially now. This particular sofa was produced by Steelcase in 1978 as noted in the original tagging pictured. Even more fun, the full set can be seen in an original 1973 Steelcase Office Graphic lookbook, showcasing their Tustin, California Western Division Headquarters. This sofa features brown design notes in the rich leather upholstery. This sofa is in good vintage condition overall, and has been recently professionally cleaned. The sofa has some scuffs and scratches to the bodies, common with used vintage furniture. The lucite base is fully intact and not cracked. The sofa features some small cracks to the fiberglass on the underside. Overall, a super beautifully preserved sofa.
