Crafted from solid mahogany by the renowned Kittinger brand based in Buffalo, NY, the table’s additional design touches include a tambour-like carved frieze on the front and back apron, and with contrasting inlay banding near the base of each tapered leg.
Kittinger’s craftsmen were so skilled that the company collaborated on handcrafted furniture reproductions with Virginia’s world-renowned Colonial Williamsburg. As the world’s largest living history museum, Williamsburg spans more than 300 acres and features hundreds of restored or reconstructed 18th-century buildings. It serves as a historical interpretation of Williamsburg's time as the capital of the Virginia Colony from 1699 to 1780. For more than fifty years this collaboration produced furniture reproductions renowned for unquestioned authenticity. These pieces are still found today in the nation's finest homes as well as the White House in Washington, D.C.
