An exceptional collection of fragments, probably from a polychrome Gothic-Mudéjar coffered ceiling. Pieces of undeniable artistic quality and historical importance.

The term "arrocabe" refers to the decorative band of wood or plaster that covers the upper part of the wall where the roof rests, between the walls and the coffered ceiling, concealing the buttress. In a wooden roof structure, it is the set of elements placed in front of the structural members as a finishing touch and cover strip. Sometimes, it has a purely decorative function, like a frieze at the top of a wall. The term "alfarje" comes from the Arabic word "al-fahrj." Another possibility is that they formed part of the decoration of the coffers within the coffered ceilings.

The painting technique generally used in coffered ceilings was tempera. The striking black outline reinforces the contours and details, defining the geometric and floral decorations, clearly influenced by the Gothic-Mudéjar style. The color palette includes lead white, charcoal black, red earth, and ochre.

These are decorative objects in themselves, full of artistic and historical value, although they can also be incorporated into home decor in a variety of ways.
