Executed in ceramic, the vase features a matte black ground animated by boldly hand-painted floral motifs in pink and turquoise, set against a vivid yellow sponged decoration that creates a striking contrast. The form is a stylised interpretation of a traditional cylindrical vase. As the body rises, it becomes subtly flattened and partially collapsed, resulting in a gently splaying silhouette that introduces movement and asymmetry while remaining visually balanced. This sculptural handling of form is characteristic of Alvino Bagni’s experimental approach to Italian mid-century ceramic design.
