A finely moulded neodymium (alexandrite) glass turtle covered box produced by Curt Schlevogt, Czechoslovakia, circa 1960s. Executed in Bohemian glass with a soft lilac hue, the piece exhibits the characteristic colour-shifting properties of neodymium glass, appearing lavender in natural light and shifting toward pale blue or green under artificial illumination. The box is formed in two parts: a sculptural base modelled as the turtle’s head and legs, and a removable domed lid finely detailed with a geometric shell pattern. The glass is finished with a satin, acid-etched surface, enhancing both the tactile quality and the diffusion of light across the form. Figural covered boxes of this type were produced by Schlevogt as part of the mid-century revival of earlier Bohemian pressed glass traditions, drawing on Art Deco precedents while adapting them to post-war decorative taste. Dimensions: Width: 8.25 in (21 cm) Depth: 4 in (10 cm) Height: 4.75 in (12 cm) Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks observed. Light surface wear consistent with age. An elegant example of mid-century Bohemian neodymium glass, suitable as a jewellery box, desk object, or addition to a Czech glass collection. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
