Produced in Italy around the 1960s, this tall blown glass vase by Empoli is formed in a slender, tapering torpedo shape and in a vibrant emerald green hued glass. The proportions are elongated and architectural, giving the piece a strong vertical presence suited to floor display. The glass is hand blown and features subtle optic striping that runs vertically through the body. These internal stripes create tonal shifts within the saturated verde hue, allowing light to pass through and gently animate the surface. The glossy finish enhances the depth of colour, which transitions slightly toward a darker tone at the base. An original “Made in Italy” sticker remains affixed to the underside. The scale and colour are characteristic of mid-century Empoli production, where bold silhouettes and saturated glass were favoured for their decorative impact. The vase remains in great condition for age and use, with minor surface wear commensurate with age. There are no chips or cracks, and it presents very well overall. Height: 49.5 cm (19.49 in) Diameter: 15 cm (5.91 in) A sculptural example of Italian mid-century glass with striking colour and clean, modern lines. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
