The form—a rounded, ribbed silhouette—recalls the atelier’s celebrated a grosse costolature series from the 1950s, reinterpreted here in rich red and gold tones. Blown using the bullicante method, the clear glass exterior is embedded with controlled air bubbles, enhancing both luminosity and depth. A suspended layer of gold leaf shimmers beneath the surface, giving the piece a warm, radiant glow. The interior is cased in a saturated ruby red glass, offering a vivid contrast that intensifies the bowl’s sculptural presence. A finely made example of late 20th-century murano glass, this bowl illustrates barovier & toso’s enduring technical mastery and affinity for bold, layered colour. Dimensions diameter: 16 cm height: 7 cm condition good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. No cracks or chips observed.
