Handcrafted in Italy in the 1950s, this elegant dish takes the form of a scallop shell, with its bottom edges pinched inward to create the distinctive shape. Made from vibrant red Murano glass and seamlessly fused with a sheet of gold leaf—a signature technique in mid-century Murano glass design—this combination results in a rich, organic pattern. During the firing process, the stretching and forming of the molten glass produce a concentric pattern of gold flakes that radiate outward, echoing the delicate textures found in a natural scallop shell.
