A striking French Art Deco sideboard sourced in Paris, France, dating to the 1930s. Crafted in richly figured walnut veneers, the piece showcases exceptional grain patterns throughout, including a dramatic chevron parquetry panel to the central door framed within a geometric border. The piece has been structurally revised and refinished in our workshop to ensure it is solid, stable, and ready for everyday use, while preserving the character and depth of the original walnut veneers. The cabinet is defined by elegant curved doors on either side, creating a sculptural façade characteristic of refined Parisian Art Deco furniture of the period. Each outer section is decorated with finely cast gilt bronze mounts depicting stylized mermaids, adding a distinctive decorative element while maintaining the sophisticated restraint typical of the era. The interior reveals generous storage with adjustable shelving and two drawers, which retain their original green faux leather fronts with gilt detailing and brass pulls, providing a beautiful contrast against the warm walnut tones. The central compartment offers additional storage behind the parquetry door, making the piece both functional and visually balanced. The sideboard rests on a shaped plinth base with gently arched supports finished with brass sabots. Additional brass trim accents the outer columns and edges, further highlighting the refined lines and craftsmanship. A sophisticated statement piece ideal for use as a dining room buffet, bar cabinet, or credenza in both classic and contemporary interiors.
