Farr, for the Revere … Read more Offering a sculptural chrome and walnut Art Deco magazine rack by the noteworthy designer, Fred D. Farr, for the Revere Company of Rome, NY, circa 1930s. The spring design concept was first used by Farr in his hugely successful range of bookends for Revere, a major industrial design force during this period. This piece is one of the original magazine-holding versions, sporting a walnut handle and base. Later editions included a more stylized all-chrome version with a ring handle and black or red octagonal bakelite editions. The rack retains its original chrome plating and walnut base and handle; it is in good vintage condition with some oxidation and surface scratches. The base measures about 12" x 6" and the height is 17 1/2"

Whether it’s placed chair or sofa-side to hold magazines (it’s most adept at that!), or prominently displayed as sculpture, it will be admired wholeheartedly. See less
