Bronze figure of the Capitoline She-Wolf (Lupa Capitolina) suckling Romulus and Remus on rocky base with polished honey onyx plinth, circa 1880.
Iconic symbol of Rome's foundation myth after the ancient Etruscan original (Capitoline Museums, c. 5th century BC with Renaissance twins). Mottled dark-to-golden patina with clear detailing to wolf's alert stance and infants' forms—prized Grand Tour souvenir evoking Roma Caput Mundi for 19th-century travelers.
