Crafted from beautifully aged solid elm wood, the cabinet features an elegant lattice construction across the back panels, side panels, and interior compartment dividers, creating a rhythmic geometric structure that is both sculptural and practical. The open shelving system consists of 16 individual cubby compartments, ideal for displaying ceramics, books, antiquities, or decorative objects.

Below the shelving are four drawers for concealed storage, each with traditional pulls. The entire cabinet separates into two pieces for easier transport, with the upper lattice shelving section fitting peg-in-hole style into the drawer base, a traditional joinery method that allows the structure to remain extremely strong and stable.

Despite its refined open construction, the piece is remarkably sturdy and capable of supporting significant weight, making it suitable for real use as a working bookcase or display cabinet.

Condition

Incredible antique condition for its age. The structure is strong and stable with beautiful patina to the elm wood. There are minor losses to some lattice detailing on the right side, consistent with age, but these do not detract from the visual impact or structural integrity of the piece.
