A rare 1882 master-work by painter G.J. van Heijenoort under the direction of Joost Thooft (De Porceleyne Fles). Includes the historic JT&L impressed mark."This exceptional 19th-century blue and white Delftware jardinière is a testament to the Dutch ceramic revival led by Joost Thooft. Produced in 1882 at the famed De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) factory, this piece bears the historic impressed "JT&L" (Joost Thooft & Labouchère) monogram and the hand-painted "Bottle" mark.
The date code "D" firmly establishes its 1882 origin, placing it among the earliest and most desirable works of the Thooft era. The Chinoiserie floral motif is meticulously hand-painted, showcasing the deep cobalt tones and expert brushwork characteristic of the factory's master painters.
Dimensions: 13"W (with handles) x 12"W (without handles) x 5"H.
Condition: Good antique condition with wear consistent with age (140+ years). Note a visible chip on the base/foot and a professional-style glued repair on one section of the foot rim. Light glaze flakes and fine age-appropriate crazing are present, adding to its authentic character.
