Vintage Fragonard-Style Porcelain Urn Lamp in Burgundy & Gold Gilt
This monumental 31" table lamp presents a sophisticated blend of French-inspired elegance and mid-century craftsmanship. The urn-shaped porcelain body is finished in a rich oxblood burgundy glaze, accented by hand-painted vignettes of courting couples in a pastoral setting.
Extensive 22K gold gilt scrollwork and floral filigree encrust the shoulders and base, framing the central romantic scenes. The piece is further elevated by ornate cast-metal handles in a traditional Louis XV style and rests upon a pierced brass pedestal base. It is topped with a vintage cream silk hexagonal shade featuring a decorative fringe trim, adding a touch of Hollywood Regency glamour to the traditional form.
