A heavy, glittering brass bookend featuring a scholarly owl perched atop a stack of books, with the bottom volume titled "HISTORY" in the casting. The bookend was crafted by PM Craftsman.
The bookend has a brown felt on the base. The piece retains a partial original paper label on the base that reads “PM CRAFT Hand Craftsman”, “The Mark of American Quality”, and EATON PARK FLORIDA”. These words encircle a cursive PM.
MEASUREMENTS
4 ¼ in (10.8 cm) long x 3 ½ in (8.9 cm) deep x 6 ½ in (16.5 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lb 14.2 oz.
CONDITION
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or dents. The gold patina is still shiny and new looking. There is a tiny bit of verdigris in a niche between the book and the foot of the owl. The only signs of wear to the finish are around the bottom edge.
With its brilliant golden luster and original brown felt bottom, it’s a substantial and sophisticated way to anchor your favorite collection.
