Long before mass production, wide baskets of this scale were essential everyday tools for agrarian and nomadic communities. Woven by hand to withstand heavy daily use, a 24-inch bowl like this would have been used for winnowing grains, gathering large crop yields, or carrying communal supplies.

This piece features tightly coiled natural grasses, but its standout element is the heavily distressed, pink and striped textile wrapped securely around the rim.
