This beautifully preserved nomadic harvest bowl is a testament to the ingenuity of traditional agrarian life. Hand-crafted for daily utility, baskets of this size and depth were essential tools used by tribal communities for gathering, sorting crops, or safely storing vital dry goods and seeds.
Woven tightly by hand from natural grasses, this basket features two incredible markers of authenticity. First, the rim has been wrapped in a protective textile binding to prevent the fibers from fraying under heavy daily use. Second, the exterior base retains its original sun-baked earthen mud sealing. This brilliant ancient technique was used to waterproof the bottom, protect it from rot, and keep fine grains from slipping through the woven coils. At 19 inches across and 9 inches deep, this piece is incredibly versatile for modern interiors. It serves as a stunning, organic catch-all on a large entryway console, a textural centerpiece for a dining table, or a unique storage vessel for rolled towels in a spa-inspired bathroom. The faded, earthy tones and raw textures blend seamlessly into Japandi, minimalist, or globally curated spaces.
