Direct from France, a stunning antique carved oak Gothic devotional cabinet with superb features, including a striking religious painting of Christ on the Cross, likely created as a special commission.

The upper shrine is crowned with open carved oak Gothic tracery and frames the Crucifixion scene, painted on canvas against a radiant gilt background and surrounded by a floral wreath.

The large cabinet features four drawers with ornate hand-carved rosette fronts, flanked by Gothic carved colonettes and retaining their original locks and a key. The projecting kneeler base opens to reveal a lift-top storage compartment.

This striking antique Gothic devotional cabinet with religious artwork would be a superb addition to any home, prayer room or chapel. Well built by craftsmen of the period, circa 1880.

Measurements: 60” Height x 27.5” Width x 25” Depth.
The top alone is 29.5” Height x 26.25”Width x 4.25”.
