African modernist "thinking man" statue with beautiful patina, abstract proportions, and smooth touch. Deeply colored stained wood. Estimated from the 1960s or 70s. Possibly from Senegal. 9.5" in height.
Very good to excellent condition with one notable irregularity--one arm appears to have a visible crack/break, but all remains in tact as the piece is carved in a looped form. May be original to this piece.
