The chair is constructed from a dark, rich-toned wood, possibly walnut, and features an ornate design with extensive carvings on the crest rail, apron, and knees of the legs. It incorporates a traditional open cane weave for both the seat and the tall, arched back, which adds a light contrast to the heavy wood frame.
