Nelly Biche de Bere Paris designed this impressive futuristic silver plate plastron necklace. The rare pendant necklace features a chunky, massive, oversized neck-tie shape with a graffiti design. The intricate design features stylized lines and curves reminiscent of hieroglyphic inscriptions. There is a hook-closing clasp with a chain for length flexibility. The engraving on the underside of the neckband reads "Nelly Biche de Bere" and is also marked "40/289", indicating that this necklace is a limited edition.
Measurements: Neckband inner circumference is 14.19 in (36 cm) - Opening 3.82 in wide (9.7 cm) - Drop is 8.07 in long (20.5 cm) - The pendant is 7.07 in long (18 cm) x 2.13 in wide (5.4 cm) - Will best fit a Medium size neck with an average of 14.57 in circumference size (37 cm).
Note: Nelly Biche de Bere (born December 5, 1964) is a French designer and founder of the brand "Biche de Bere." She has been compared to visionaries such as Coco Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, and Philippe Starck.
She graduated from the École Supérieure de Design Industrielle in Paris and the Pratt Institute in New York. She exhibited in Parisian and New York museums and worked as an industrial designer in New York for seven years before creating her company in 1993.
The jewelry collections quickly met with success thanks to their design, quality, and originality. Biche de Bere opened several stores in Paris and France, and later in the United States, in New York and Los Angeles.
The company opened its manufacturing plant in France in 1994 to supply the brand stores.
The brand has up to 34 stores in France and 46 abroad. In 1999, it completed its offering with a line of women's clothing.
Due to poor management, the company, which employed 180 employees, faced financial difficulties from 2006 until April 2007, when it was placed under legal receivership. Then, in April 2007, the Nantes Commercial Court put it into compulsory liquidation, immediately terminating the activity.
