The pieces boast a geometric, dangling shape with imitation mother-of-pearl petals, adorned with gilded metal chain decor, and complemented by golden brown resin drops. Like all vintage Monique Vedié pieces, these earrings are unsigned.

Note: Monique Vedié, born in 1924, was a French designer and maker of costume jewelry from the 1950s to the 1990s. She attended the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués in Paris. She initially worked with Victor Linton, then opened her own fashion house. She also studied at the Line Vautrin School in Paris, where she mastered the Talosel process. She later established her own brand, crafting jewelry made from cellulose acetate in vibrant colors, often featuring fruits, flowers, and whimsical characters. Initially, her designs strongly resembled Vautrin's work, but each piece was entirely handmade. Although none of her creations carry a signature, Vedié's distinct style makes them easily recognizable. Before retiring in 1992, she collaborated with renowned Parisian fashion houses, including Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. Today, her legacy lives on through the CILEA brand, led by designer Stephane Ravel, with Cilea Paris primarily producing designs for French creator Françoise Montague.

TALOSEL is a material created by LINE VAUTRIN. It is a synthetic resin developed at the end of World War II. This 1950s patented term is an acronym for aceTAte de celluLOSe ELabore (Elaborate Cellulose Acetate). See less
