Line Vautrin Talosel Cornucopia Brooch
An exceptional creation by the legendary artist Line Vautrin, this Talosel brooch embodies both artistry and innovation. Designed in the form of a cornucopia (horn of plenty), its dimensional branches unfurl in sculptural white and green Talosel, richly encrusted with green and gold mirrored glass and accented with gilt metal.
This iconic design was also used to create her famous witch mirror. This exclusive design is known as "Saint Hubert".
Talosel—a groundbreaking technique pioneered by Vautrin—was crafted from cellulose acetate, fractured into delicate splinters, and meticulously worked with heat. Each jewel required a multi-stage process: mirrors were handmade and tinted, the Talosel molded into organic forms, and mirror fragments embedded to create shimmering, light-catching surfaces.
This brooch is not only a jewel but a testament to Vautrin's genius, where material alchemy meets poetic design. A rare opportunity to own a piece of mid-century French artistry that continues to captivate collectors worldwide. An exceptional addition for any distinctive private collection.
Dimensions: 4.13 in wide (10.5 cm) by 4.13 in high (10.5 cm).
Note: This exclusive design was used to create the famous "Miroir St Hubert," circa 1958, pictured in "Line Vautrin - Miroirs" by Patrick Mauriès, Galerie Chastel Marechal Editions, Copyright 2004, on page 13. Please refer to the last image.
