This is a rare vintage cast bronze desk note clip modeled after a sporting dog.
From Vienna Austria, early 1900s this bronze piece is cold painted, a technique popularized in Vienna resulting in its life like finishes.
The back of the dog’s head has a spring hinge to hold notes, letters etc and the design of the brass backplate allows for the option of hanging as well.
