Georgene McGonagle, Colorado
Georgene received her BS degree from Southern Methodist University, and after teaching Biology and Mathematics, she began a new career sculpting realistic children. Recently, her sculptures have become more stylized.
Georgen’s sculptures are in public parks, schools, businesses and private collections throughout the US; in Denver, Coors Field, National Jewish Medical Center, Boys and Girls Club, American National Bank, and Children’s Hospital Ponzio Creative Arts therapy program.
Awards include Women Artists of the West, Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, American Women Artists and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and a feature in the book, Sculpture of the Rockies.
About the Artist
• A graduate of Southern Methodist University and biology teacher, Georgene McGonagle is noted for her eclectic artwork, from children to stylized animals.
• Placements include: The park systems of: Colorado; Greeley, Colo.; Chicago; Texas City, Texas; and Derby, Kansas. Other placements include: The Colorado Rockies’ “Coors Field” in Denver; National Jewish Medical Center, Denver; American National Bank (Bank of Cherry Creek), Denver; Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver; Graland and Kent Denver Schools; Colorado and Mackintosh Academies; and others.
• Awards include: Leonard Meiselman Award of Allied Artists of America; Audubon Artists, Inc.; Domincos Facci Award; First Place, American Association of Women Artists; People’s Choice Awards in Evergreen and Lakewood, Colo.; and others.
