This antique … Read more An Italian Neoclassical carved and painted wood console table, with its original marble top, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy retains its original white marble top; a slender, rectangular-shaped piece with shallow outward projections about the front center and along each corner. It rests above the apron with beautifully pierce-carved acanthus lattice about three sides, a floral medallion plaque at center and smaller floral carvings at each corner, and outlined along the bottom in a petite bead trim. The table is presented upon four rounded and tapering legs, embellished with flute carvings and acanthus wraps. The finish is a muted gold with hints of silver grey showing through from beneath. The backside of the table remains un-adorned so best use would be placed against a wall. This period Neoclassical Italian table, with finely carved apron and original marble top, will make a fabulous console for an entry foyer or living area. See less
