Afmetingen: hoogte 15 cm, diameter 7 cm.

The warm tone of the wood and its soft sheen allow the grain to play across the surface, while the face is painted with a confident hand: an intense gaze, deep red accents, and a richly rendered beard. Daruma figures traditionally symbolise perseverance, focus, and good fortune—and this piece carries exactly that spirit.

The daruma is signed and attributed to the mingei maker Gōno Seifū (郷野清風). It is especially appealing that the set has been preserved complete, with the original cardboard box, the wooden name plaque (fuda), and the original document/leaflet describing the wood used and the craft tradition behind the making.

Condition is excellent and fresh, with no damage, clear colours, and a beautiful, even gloss. See less
