Its long, horizontal format makes it a strong interior piece with a calm, architectural presence.

Dimensions: height 40 cm, width 172 cm, depth 3 cm.

The panel is built as an open wooden lattice in a deep, dark tone, set within a warmer outer frame with a subtle profile. Two cranes glide through the grid, carefully carved in relief with beautiful detailing in the feathers, neck, and legs. The contrast between the dark carving and the warmer frame adds depth and rhythm to the composition. The ranma is also attractive from both sides, which makes it suitable as a freestanding object or as a see-through room element.

Traditionally, ranma were installed above sliding doors as transom panels that let light and air pass through while adding decoration. Today, this piece works exceptionally well as wall decor: horizontally above a sofa or sideboard, in an entryway, or as a quiet statement above a passage. A perfect fit for wabi-sabi or minimalist interiors where texture and craftsmanship do the work.
