It’s likely early 20th century, but could be older. The gilding has been rubbed off in areas to reveal the red clay coating that is used before gold leaf is applied, which lends it a very aged and rich warm patina. Carved details include swags and leaves. Frame may originally have held a painting, and the mirror in it is newer than the frame. Exact country of origin is not known (could be English or French) but it does look continental. Due to its rectangular shape, this mirror is versatile enough to hang over a dresser, buffet or fireplace. See less
