This piece features a beautifully aged verdigris patina over metal, with warm brass and copper tones visible at the mouth and along areas of natural wear, adding depth and contrast to the overall finish. The construction is especially compelling, with segmented body panels joined by rivets that allow for movement to the back half, giving the fish a lifelike, almost animated quality. I love that you can display the piece upright and adjust the tail to give it "motion," if you like. The red eyes and slightly toothy expression bring a whimsical edge, while the overall form and materials keep it grounded in a more sculptural, artisan tradition.
