This large double gourd shape vase is a sly sister to Adler's best-selling ribbed gourd-shaped items—imitated countless times—where instead of vertical grooves there are hundreds of three-petaled pop art flowers that form an allover pattern with tons of kicky character.

Adler eventually became the powerhouse home decor and furniture manufacturer of today. He manufactures pottery, home goods, and furniture, not just for his own company but also for other well-known brands at several market levels, from mass-produced Chinese goods that are less expensive to hand-crafted and hand-finished items that sell in luxury and designer venues. This vintage vase falls into the latter category, and was hand-made in Peru to be sold in Adler's first pottery collection in the early 1990s; this collection boosted his profile and launched his larger career.

Rare in both style and size, this vase has an ivory/cream semi-matte glaze and stands nearly 17" tall and about 10" in diameter. It is in excellent condition, with no crazing, chips, or cracks.
