The vase features a refined elongated … Read more Elegant Swedish Sommerso art glass vase designed by Bengt Orup for Johansfors Glassworks, 1960s. The vase features a refined elongated teardrop form with a slender cylindrical neck and beautifully balanced proportions, exemplifying Scandinavian modern design. Executed in clear crystal with a soft amber-yellow sommerso core, the piece demonstrates the classic layered glass technique for which Johansfors became known. The thick rounded base enhances its sculptural presence while creating beautiful light refractions through the glass. A striking mid-century object whether displayed upright as intended or presented horizontally as a sculptural form. Dimensions Height: 31 cm (12.2 in) Condition Good vintage condition.
