Burmese Monk Carved in Wood, early 1900s, oriental sculpture crafted from a single piece of wood, wax-restored with a dark patina. The monk figure is depicted seated in the lotus position (Padmasana) with his hands clasped. This posture, with hands clasped in a gesture of greeting, prayer, or spiritual humility, is quite common in oriental contexts.
It comes from a private collection in Lombardy and is in good condition.
