This ceramic wall sculpture of a stylized mermaid is a Belgian workshop piece from the 1960s–1970s. It fully embodies the modernist and expressive aesthetic of post-war Belgian design, a blend of decorative art and brutalist influence.

The openwork silhouette gives the piece a strong graphic presence. The body is crafted from chamotte clay, intentionally left unglazed, revealing an authentic mineral texture.
