Original Signed James Rosenquist Velum Prints and Exhibition Catalog.
This rare softbound exhibition catalog, titled James Rosenquist at Colorado State University, was published by the CSU Department of Art to document the artist's residency and exhibition held on campus in 1982. A major highlight of this specific copy is a bold, authentic hand-signature by James Rosenquist, dated "1982," across a vellum overlay featuring one of his iconic pop-surrealist bottle sketches.
Rosenquist, a pioneer of the Pop Art movement known for his billboard-scaled paintings, was part of a prestigious series of visiting artists at CSU that also included Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. The catalog features scholarly text by exhibition coordinator Patrick B. Veerkamp and includes a curated selection of Rosenquist's works, such as Reflector, Deflector, and Lanai, which emphasize his mastery of fragmented, consumerist imagery and monumental scale. This document serves as both a significant piece of art history and a personalized artifact from one of the most important periods of the Colorado art scene.

The catalog is in Fine condition, having been preserved with remarkable care. The vibrant, multi-colored typographic cover remains bright with no evidence of sun-fading or significant edge wear. The interior pages are crisp and white, and the delicate vellum insert—which carries the artist's signature—is flat and free of the wrinkling or "waving" often seen in aged translucent papers. The staple binding remains secure and shows no signs of oxidation. The signature itself is rendered in dark ink with no fading or smudging. less
