This matched pair of three-light wall sconces presents a bold, sculptural interpretation of the Florentine/Italian taste for gilded, nature-derived ornament, built around a vertical, rod-like backplate crowned by a radiating starburst of serrated leaf forms. Each sconce is constructed in layered, hand-worked metal elements, with clustered leaves applied in graduated tiers that step down the backplate and visually “bind” the central stem, creating the effect of a sheaf or bundled botanical spray.
