About the artist: She was born Mildred Eileen Jones in Baltimore, MD in 1930. She lived her early adult life in Long Island, NY where she operated a commercial gallery. She eventually moved to Hawaii where she operated a commercial gallery in Princeville on the island of Kauai. She later moved to the island of Maui where she died on Oct 21, 2003. Her early work was mostly of a French impressionist style and some still life work. She always signed her paintings “EJones”. However, in late 60’s and the 70’s she also signed as “Montrec”. Her artwork in her later years in Hawaii was focused on natural landscapes of the island scenery."
