Signed and stamped American studio Raku vase dated 1999. The form features a rounded, full-bodied base that tapers inward to a short, flared weed pot-style flute, giving it a strong sculptural presence.
The glaze is exceptional, with classic Raku copper, brown, and earthy green tones accented by striking flashes of light blue and pale green across the shoulders and neck. The reduction firing creates rich variation and depth throughout the surface.
A substantial and beautifully executed late 20th century studio piece with presence beyond a typical bud vase.
