This antique chest from Sweden has been designed with clean, minimal stylings typical in Gustavian furniture. The rectangular top slightly overhangs the case below, which houses three graduated and dove-tailed drawers, each fitted with a pair of brass ring pulls and brass escutcheon at center. The chest is raised upon short flute carved, tapering legs (not likely original). There are traces of the original color throughout, with more color on top. This 19th century Gustavian style Swedish chest of drawers has a clean, timeless design which would compliment both a traditional or more contemporary setting. See less
