The background is a soft aged blue, … Read more 19th-century chest of three drawers crafted in pine with its original hand-painted finish. The background is a soft aged blue, while each of the six front panels is painted in brick red and decorated with a small floral bouquet. Hues of teal, red, and white remain visible, all beautifully softened through time.
The top retains faint traces of its original paint, though much of it has worn down to the natural pine below. The exposed wood displays a deep, warm patina developed through generations of use. Scratches, stains, and gouges are visible along the top, consistent with age and history.
The upper two drawer (interior bottoms) and both sides show typical age-related separation of the wood. These characteristics are consistent with 19th-century pine construction and do not impact structural integrity. The chest has been restored, is strong and stable, and ready for use.
