This antique chest from Italy … Read more An Italian wood chest of drawers, with elaborate high relief carvings, from the 18th century. This antique chest from Italy has been finely hand-carved with beautiful trim moldings at top and bottom; figures of knights carved down the front side posts, and drawers embellished in a mesmerizing scenery of swirling acanthus leaf scrolls with a pair of three-dimensional putti pulls flanking rams head at center. The chest is presented on paw feet at front, which angle outward from each corner (adding approximately 3" in width at each side from the main case, which is approximately 49" wide by 24 inches deep). The wood has a bleached finish with gray/taupe accents. This 18th century Italian chest, in knight, putto and ram motif, is a striking piece of furniture which could easily be used throughout the home. See less
