About Marius Giuge
Marius Giuge (1909-1980) was an active 20th-century ceramicist working in Vallauris, the renowned center of French pottery production. Vallauris experienced a major artistic revival after World War II, notably between the late 1940s and 1960s, attracting numerous ceramicists and gaining international recognition. Within this context, Giuge produced distinctive decorative ceramics characterized by textured surfaces, bold glazing effects, and sculptural forms. Signed examples are collected today as part of the broader Vallauris mid-century ceramic movement.
