The F.B. Rogers Silver Co. traces its beginnings to Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, where it was established in 1883. Edmund W. Porter and L.B. West later acquired the company and relocated manufacturing operations to Taunton, Massachusetts in 1886, rebranding it as the West Silver Company. Under this name, the company crafted exceptional silver products for the renowned William Rogers Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut.

Around 1904, new ownership led to a return to the original name, F.B. Rogers, when William Davison, Carleton A. Woodward, and H.E. Nearing took over. Over the years, the company continued to flourish, and in 1925, it moved to a new location at 59 Wales Street, Taunton. Another move followed in 1943 when it settled into the West Water Street site, formerly occupied by the Weir Stove Company.

Throughout its history, F.B. Rogers Silver Co. utilized various marks to distinguish its exquisite creations, including a crown emblem adorned with the numbers 18 and 83, representing its establishment in 1883. In 1955, the company became part of the esteemed National Silver Company, further solidifying its reputation in the industry. See less
