McGuire Sculptural Rattan & Bamboo “Sheaf of Wheat” round dining table. An exceptional example of Organic Modern design, this authentic vintage McGuire sculptural table, model NP-10, often referred to as the “Sheaf of Wheat”, features an hourglass silhouette crafted from natural bamboo and rattan. Designed and produced in San Francisco during the 1970s–1980s, this piece reflects the timeless craftsmanship and material integrity synonymous with John and Elinor McGuire.
Hand-constructed from bundled split bamboo poles and bound at the waist with McGuire’s signature woven rattan belt detail, the base presents a visually dynamic pedestal form that is both architectural and organic.
