She received her first painting lessons from her father, Piet Slager. She then trained further under the watchful eye of brother Piet Jr, as did her sister Corry. The work of Jeanette Slager is characterized by the use of powerful, bold colors. The painter lived and worked in Den Bosch, The Hague and finally in Vught, where she died in 1945.
