Likely produced in a regional French workshop (Normandy or Burgundy) circa 1890, this piece reflects rural craftsmanship rather than formal Parisian production — balanced in scale and decorative without excess.

The mirror plate and plywood backing were replaced in the mid–late 20th century. The frame remains original, with honest surface wear, oxidation within the carving, and tonal variation consistent with age.
