This unique item is a Mid-Century "Fish Trap" basket side table, famously associated with the style of Italian designer Franco Albini. Originally designed in the 1950s or 1960s, these tables were typically crafted from rattan, bamboo, or wicker and were designed to hold a circular glass top.
This one is particularly rare as part of it was painted light blue in the original assembly process.
While originally intended as a side or end table with a glass top, the basket-like design also allows it to be used as a decorative catch-all or plant stand.
